These testimonials are from our past participants:
The teachings that marriage is not only a one day event, it is for a lifetime.
Able to understand each other more and communicate to each other regarding our relationship towards marriage, able to learn from the sharing from presenting couples.
I enjoyed the time we shared together, and the personal stories given by the Presenting Couples and Priest.
I enjoy the separate writing and dialogue sessions which allowed us the setting to be very honest with one another which we might not have achieved in an unstructured setting.
We have enough time to think about many things in detail regarding marriage life. Also good time for know each other even more.
Amazing food, well spoken presenters that were willing to be vulnerable and share their own experience in teaching couples from real life examples.
I like the amount of space we have to have heartfelt and sensitive conversations while not feeling like it would be heard or judged by others.
I like that it is intensive. It helped us go through topics that are often brushed aside because we don’t have the capacity to do it on a daily basis.
I like the stay in aspect because it gives us a chance to have some continuity in thoughts.
The sharing of real life experiences and how each segment is portrayed in reality. The well thought out information in the booklet and the time to reflect without the need to share openly.
Generally a good list of guiding questions that helps to invoke communications between couples, and good relatable real life stories to help with the understanding of these points. I am not a catholic but generally the principles are really tied to what I would want my family and children to believe in too.
I appreciated the personal sharings and can imagine it took alot of humility and vulnerability from the presenting couples. It helped me to also understand the various dynamics that can happen in a relationship, no matter how raw, and that it’s human. I also valued talking about reliance on God through those moments.
We were able to come together lovingly and discuss many things that will unite us in marriage from personal values and couple values to family life and forgiveness.
Good insights and perspectives. Good workbook. Good that the weekend is conducive to focus on each other.
I like that it provided us with questions which we would not have normally thought about. I also like that we each had the time to individually write before discussing, which allows for more insightful discussions.
That I got an opportunity to revisit some of the topics that my partner and I had previously discussed on a deeper level. It also gave me a chance to get to know my partner better.
I liked everything about the weekend, the sharing of couples, the explanation of topics, the content of what was discussed, Q&A session, the timing allowed for the couple to communicate and the food was great!
It helps in reinforcing that the ways we navigate out of challenging conversation are working and that we will continue to work things out together through open communication.
We were given time, points for reflection, and experiences from others to take into consideration as we dialogued about our relationship and upcoming marriage.
I liked that the topics were backed by real stories so it was more relatable and easier to digest. Even though it was done with other couples I like that we have our individual couple time so it really helped us to connect and listen to each other. I also liked that the food was yummy!
Session topics were interesting, especially those God-centric ones. Personal examples from speakers made it more relatable. Thank you, Presenting Team and House Couples!
The whole program was well organised, especially the sharing sessions by each presenting couple. I felt that their sharings were very real and relatable...
The dialogue sessions between my partner and I were engaging and very targeted towards specific issues. The talking points and workbook also helped keep things on topic and led to interesting conversations.
The dialogues that happened with good prompting questions, allowing us to understand better about each other. It was also heartening to know the work we’ve done so far has built a good foundation for our relationship. The 2 couples with their real life examples also made it more interesting and relatable. Food is good too!
Programme was efficiently run, presenting couples were well prepared and delivered content succinctly. Food was great!!!
I found the sharings very intimate and the modules very relevant. They helped build a stronger foundation for my partner and myself as we approach our engagement.
The weekend provides a lot of time for couples to discuss about practical topics that they should consider when considering marriage. It also helps that it is a safe space for the couples to reflect upon those topics and address them together. I also really appreciate that the presenting couples offered a lot of valuable insight in sharing their stories some of which may have been sensitive topics in their marriage as well.
Being able to speak about serious topics in a comfortable environment, hearing the personal stories of the presenting couples and also hearing experiences from other couples attending CEE.
I enjoyed the reflections and the dialogues we get with our partners, learning to love each other better through our reflections and making decisions together.
